I-840 shooting: 2 shot on Rutherford County interstate; suspect sought

  • Two people were hurt in a shooting on I-840 near Almaville Road, officials said

  • Westbound lanes were shut down Monday morning as police investigated and searched for a suspect

  • The suspect is still at large, police said

Two men were shot Monday morning while driving along Interstate 840 near the Almaville Road exit, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said.


According the the Daily News Journal, one was taken to a Nashville hospital while the other was treated and released.

The two men were traveling westbound to a job site in a small, black SUV when someone shot at them several times around 6:30 a.m., RCSO said. The men told police they believe the shooter was in a larger SUV that may have been silver. No motive has been established.

 

 

Police shut down I-840 west from Almaville Road to Veterans Parkway for around two hours as they searched the area and gathered evidence. The Tennessee Highway Patrol was also on the scene, a spokesperson said.
