Springhouse Theatre Company, Rutherford County’s premier destination for live family theatrical entertainment, is thrilled to host the classic story of The Music Man. This Musical is a timeless, family friendly story about the value of music and relationship.
“The Music Man” was written by Meredith Willson in memory of his childhood. The characters are all based on real people in his life, from his piano teaching mother portrayed as Marian to himself as Winthrop, a boy whose life changed because of music. He wrote the charming story loaded with brilliant songs such as “Trouble”, “Seventy-Six Trombones”, and “Marian the Librarian”. Meredith himself was a world renowned musician, song-writer, and music director. When he was asked to write the musical “The Music Man”, he had no idea it would become one of his greatest works.
